Cocktailing...the lost art!

Did you know?
Cocktails became less popular in the late 1960s and in the 1970s, as other recreational drugs, such as marijuana hit the party scene. Sometime in the 1980s the cocktail made an awesome comeback, thanks to amazing ad campaigns by the likes of Absolut vodka, thus rousing the competitors! Traditional purest cocktails and my all time favorite gin began to make a comeback in the 2000s. Which explains my trending penchant for Hendricks Gin!

There is often a discussion when it comes to ordering a martini as to what is a true martini? I say James Bond screwed this up pretty much single handedly. An original purest martini is made with GIN, not vodka. Notice I omitted mint, raspberries, chocolate, or anything involving syrups. Those drinks may be “martini-wanna-be’s”, by virtue of the shape of the glass, but that’s where all similarity ends.

The Liquor Pit may make light of drinking, but in reality we are all for responsible consumption and Quality over Quantity.
